QMX has been extending cross platform support to System Center Configuration Manager and Operations Manager since the MOM 2000 and SMS days, so we get a lot of questions when Microsoft adds any native non-Windows support. We put together a comparison table (see the link to the attachment below - almost to the very bottom of this post) to cover what Microsoft is coming out with in SCCM natively and how QMX compliments it. A couple of key points:
- QMX supports 2007 - not just 2012.
- QMX supports Mac OS deployment (remotely deploy a golden image with the OS, drivers...etc.)
- QMX allows selective layering and selective removal of iOS and Android profiles and iOS apps
- QMX enable blacklisting and whitelisting for Mobile Device Management
- QMX gives you the flexibility of agent and agentless inventory (think about *nix engineers and admins)
- QMX does not require MSCEP enrollment - eliminating exposure to potential security issues
- QMX does not require ActiveSync / Exchange accounts
- QMX supports over 120 non-Windows platforms
